BRIQ is a general contractor based in Mechelen that delivers architectural renovations and new builds from A to Z. We work with one dedicated project manager per project and a permanent team of about fifteen specialists.

Through weekly site meetings we stay in close contact, and we constantly check everything against your wishes and your budget. We take the complex scheduling, the coordination and the communication with all parties and the administration completely off your hands. That way you are not faced with surprises, and building or renovating immediately becomes a great deal more carefree.
BRIQ in brief
- BRIQ is a general contractor with an office in Mechelen, founded by Nils Goovaerts.
- BRIQ delivers renovations, new builds, interior projects and professional spaces from A to Z: from demolition and structural work to building services, bespoke joinery, painting and landscaping.
- About 70% of projects are renovations and 30% new builds; 80 to 90% of clients are private individuals.
- Every project has one dedicated project manager. A project manager oversees an average of four projects in execution; in addition, a few sites are usually starting up or in the handover phase.
- A total renovation at BRIQ takes from a few weeks to a year and a half, depending strongly on the project. A new build takes fifteen months on average, including interior joinery and painting.
- Every week there is a site meeting with the client and the architect.
- BRIQ works with a permanent team of about 15 specialists, each dedicated to one trade; BRIQ handles the technical preparation, the scheduling and the coordination.
- A complete quotation is ready within about a month; works usually start 2 to 4 months after the contract is signed.
- At BRIQ, every change during the works is priced in advance and only carried out after approval.
- A total renovation at BRIQ starts from €100,000; most projects are between €350,000 and €1,000,000, the largest up to €3,000,000.
- Since 2016 BRIQ has delivered more than 60 projects; half of new clients come through word of mouth.
- Service area: Mechelen, Antwerp and surroundings, including Bonheiden, Rijmenam, Keerbergen, Sint-Katelijne-Waver, Hove, Boechout and Schilde.
The story
Building runs in the family. Nils Goovaerts grew up with a father who worked in construction all his life. Nils himself was a site manager at MBG, where he delivered office buildings and concrete structures, and then spent six years as a project manager in his parents' construction company.
In 2016 he chose his own path. He wanted to run a construction company the way he envisioned it: with clear communication, permanent tradespeople and a schedule that holds. That is how BRIQ came about, a name built on the basic material of every house, with a small twist.
What drives Nils today? Realising projects with an architectural challenge the way the architect envisioned them. One project is challenging because of its scale, another because of its detailing. It is precisely those challenges that make every project something to be proud of.

Every trade is in the hands of people who excel in their speciality and with whom we have worked for years. We take care of the technical preparation, the scheduling and the coordination. Nils Goovaerts
Managing director
Grew up in construction, was a site manager at MBG and then spent six years as a project manager in his parents' construction company before founding BRIQ. He is happiest when a site is busy and a project visibly moves forward in a short time.
Vesna De Meyer
Project manager
Civil engineer with a passion for every facet of construction. She started at Besix, worked at the Besix technical office in Doha (Qatar) and was then a site manager at Stadsbader. Also trained as an interior stylist, she combines technical knowledge and site experience with a sharp eye for finishes.
Els Pishoudt
Project manager and architect
Built a full career as an architect and has now been working as a project manager for almost ten years. As an independent architect she also draws designs for BRIQ clients who do not yet have an architect; the site work on those projects is then overseen by another project manager.
Romi Sollie
Office manager
Interior designer, trained at Thomas More in Mechelen. She then designed interiors and construction drawings, prepared quotations and site work, and followed files through to invoicing. A calm, careful and diplomatic all-rounder with high standards: exactly what you want from the person who keeps the office running smoothly.
