Townhouse in Antwerp
The architect and the client opted for a bold, fresh colour in the bath and shower room: a bathroom that catches the eye straight away.

The brief
The townhouse had already been partly renovated; now it was the turn of the bathroom and the rear facade. Two elements called for particular attention: cladding the bath and shower walls entirely in polyester, and building a round canopy for the terrace, with integrated LED strips.
The approach
A magnificent townhouse in Antwerp, already partly renovated, received a thorough refresh of the bathroom and the rear facade. In the bathroom the window was moved and fitted with a new profile and glass. The shower walls and the bath were finished entirely in yellow polyester. The double bathroom unit is made of plywood. The underfloor heating lies beneath a floor finish of 10 x 10 PRO ARCHITECTURA tiles. The sliding window in the rear facade was also renewed and the terrace received an atmospheric wooden canopy.
For the polyester cladding we brought in a specialised craftsman. Together we determined in advance how each substrate had to be prepared, so that the cladding could be applied seamlessly and durably. The round canopy above the terrace is built up from wooden battens, with LED strips discreetly integrated into the structure.
