HAAL

The brief

The clients had already renewed part of their home in the past. Now it was the turn of the living space, the entrance hall and the bathroom. Warm tones and a cosy atmosphere were the priority.

The approach

Among the green fields of Rijmenam, BRIQ took care of the renovation of a country home. The living space, the entrance hall and the bathroom were completely stripped and fitted with new building services and atmospheric LED lighting. In the entrance hall, the old staircase made way for a bespoke closed staircase in oak with built-in cabinets in melamine and ABS, finished with a white textured lacquer. Cabinets and staircase thus form one whole. In the living space, office and entrance hall, engineered select oak parquet was laid in 7 x 49 cm strips. The living and office spaces remain visually connected, but each keeps its own place thanks to a door in powder-coated steel. The clean interior is softened by a built-in wood stove. The bathroom was fitted with a PU poured floor and a freestanding bath. The walls were tiled with Fez Grey ceramic tiles in 6.2 x 12.5 cm format with a grey joint. The bathroom unit was made to measure in thick dark oak veneer. The same material was used for the bespoke furniture in the living space and office.
