A renovation that began with the kitchen: the new kitchen design also called for the home itself to be adapted and renewed.
The brief
The client wanted a new kitchen. As the design took shape, it became clear that the home around that kitchen had to change as well. The challenge was to make the kitchen and the home form one whole again.
The approach
We started from the kitchen design and worked out the rest of the home from there: the interior and exterior finishes, the building services and a new fireplace. The white kitchen island stands on a dark tiled floor, with a wall in a warm wood tone and large glazed sections towards the terrace. An open white staircase with a black handrail connects the levels and lets the light flow through the home. In the living space the electric fireplace was given a place in a tall chimney breast, and a bespoke workspace was created along the stairs.
