MALBERS

The brief

The existing home was completely dismantled down to the concrete slab and rebuilt from there as a contemporary, cleanly designed home. Large floor-to-ceiling windows define the architecture and create a strong connection between inside and outside. The facade in concrete-look render gives the whole an outspoken, industrial character. The greatest challenge lay in the refined detailing: the clean lines had to run through consistently, from the structural work to the finishes.

The approach

The very large glazed section in the rear facade and the exterior joinery running right up to the roof edge look very clean, but technically they are a tour de force. We carefully aligned the roofing and the exterior joinery, so that every detail comes into its own.
