Terraced house Niel
Terraced house in Niel
A rooflight and a continuous concrete floor turn the ground floor of this terraced house into one bright, open living space.

The brief
The ground floor of this terraced house had to become more open and brighter. The greatest challenge was to bring daylight deep into the home.
The approach
BRIQ took care of the complete renovation of the ground floor. We removed the interior masonry, the false ceiling, the floor build-up, the kitchen, the interior doors and the interior joinery. After the earthworks and foundations came the new building services, the exterior joinery and the rooflight, which brings daylight into the living space from above. The kitchen was given its own niche with a sleek white wall of cabinets. At the rear, the home connects to a covered terrace with a wooden roof structure.
