Character home in Mechelen
A new interior for a young family, in a home of character in Mechelen.
The brief
The client wanted to renew the interior of the home, with a new kitchen and a renewed veranda at the rear.
The approach
In this home of character, the kitchen, the floor coverings and the existing veranda were removed. BRIQ installed a completely new kitchen in birch plywood with a terrazzo worktop, and a poured floor in cement resin. The living space and stairwell gained an open character through the installation of a pivoting door with transparent glazing. In the extension of the home, a veranda in Afzelia wood was installed, as well as a staircase unit in birch plywood. A steel spiral staircase connects the living space with the first floor.
